I'm sure we've all heard of PETA before; People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals....or so they say. Police have found evidence that PETA headquarters actually murders more than 90% of the THOUSANDS of animals brought in. They even have a field kit, used to kill animals as soon as they are found roaming the streets, instead of putting them out for adoption. "In the last 11 years, PETA has killed 29,426 dogs, cats, rabbits, and other domestic animals." Most of these animals were perfectly healthy and adoptable. Inspections at the headquarters show that PETA doesn't even have an adoption area in the building, yet it is registered as an adoption center. WHAT...?!?
The struggles here are many. First of all, the poor animals brought in the shelter for adoption struggle to stay alive in the cold stainless steel cages, with barely any food and water. Yet somehow, most end up being killed even if they are able to live in these poor conditions. These innocent creatures are fighting for their lives instead of being loved and cared for!
Second of all, people are struggling with trusting PETA or trusting these reports. There is little proof that these animals are being cared for. On the contrary, there is proof showing exactly the opposite. But how can we know for sure that these "proofs" are accurate? Yes, there are pictures, but are they really from PETA headquarters? 
Third is more of a national struggle. There are many other groups and organizations for the protection of animals. Yet how can we know that they are not doing the same thing PETA is charged with doing? People are struggling with trusting these organizations, and many are taking matters into their own hands, trying to find homes for animals themselves. I find it incredibly sad and disappointing that these charges were even brought up against such an organization as PETA. Animals love us unconditionally, and THIS is how we repay them? Instead of taking care of them, loving them, appreciating the fact that they will ALWAYS be there no matter what....people murder them, beat them, and "forget" to feed them for days on end. I don't know if I want to live on this planet anymore.
I mean just look at these adorable animals! How can someone even think about hurting them?
Oh.My.Gosh. If this is true, how dare they push their holier than thou crap to the public when they are just as bad, if not worse. And if its just a fake, how dare people try to accuse them of doing the one thing they are supposedly setting out to stop? Okay, I'm not sure what I really think of this. Either way, its just plain disturbing.
ReplyDeleteWhy does there always have to be something wrong with big business? I hate now having to think that maybe PETA actually does these things to the animals that they "rescue". I really feel that, for their own image, PETA really needs to speak out about this, publicly.
