Royal penguin stranded in New Zealand :(

This little royal penguin was found stranded in New Zealand, a thousand miles away from its home. It is still in a critical condition, being severely underweight. It is constantly battling for survival, but is getting better each day. The reason for its being in New Zealand is assumed to be because it was following/searching for food since there isn't enough where it comes from.

When I read this article I knew this was what I was going to talk about this week.  What pulled me towards the story was the fact that I simply LOVE animals, and it hurts to know that some of them are suffering.
There are 2 struggles presented. One is the penguin's struggle to survive. It needs water, food, and a cool temperature, all in slowly increasing doses so as not to risk its already failing health. Its life is in danger because of all the damages caused during the travel. The second struggle is the fact that there is little to no food left in the sub-Antarctic zone, causing animals to reach such drastic conditions. The lack of food is due to global warming, which in turn results from pollution. Therefore if us, as humans, don't find a way of stopping (or at least significantly reducing) pollution, more and more creatures will end up suffering, or even face the threat of extinction. This is a global struggle that should be quickly acted upon. I mean, imagine what it must be like to be so hungry that you end up searching for food in a place where you know you can't survive. That's what this little penguin had to go through. Just think about it......
