Battle over abortion

The one struggle I will talk about this week is abortion. Well, more exactly abortion laws. North Dakota and Arkansas courts are trying to pass laws banning abortion as early as 6 and 12 weeks of pregnancy. At the same time, politicians are supporting the legal battle over these laws with the money collected from citizens' taxes.
I see two major struggles in this article. One would be the struggle to ban these laws. Protesters claim that by 6 weeks many women don't even know they are pregnant. If they ban abortion after 6 weeks then those women will have no choice. Also, they claim this would go against an earlier Supreme Court decision claiming that abortion should be banned only after 22 weeks, when a fetus could survive outside the womb. I believe women should be able to have the choice of abortion at an early stage of pregnancy. I don't think these laws are completely focused on the moral right and wrong of abortion but are being used as means of bringing attention to the politicians themselves.
The second struggle is quite the opposite of the first. It is the ardor with witch the politicians are trying to pass these laws, and more similar ones.  The politicians are looking into evidence that these laws should be passed and, as stated earlier, are even using tax money to support the ongoing battle over these laws.
I, personally wouldn't support these laws. I think that up to around 20 weeks a woman should be able to have an abortion if she deems it necessary. While abortion should be considered last, I still think it should be an option. If you are wondering why 20 weeks, it is because around this time a fetus can feel pain and can have the possibility of supporting itself outside of the mother's womb.
Of course everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
So...what do YOU think? :)
